Just Discovered…

Posted: December 5, 2010 in Shops, The Dying Art of Sewing

While doing my daily perusing of http://www.fashion-incubator.com, I stumbled across this amazing designer. Click the pic to go to her shop.

Leather Mid Bustier

I have the highest respect for anyone who can make a living by creating things with their own hands (and does not exclude anyone who makes the world’s best sandwhich by starting with a lb. of flour and a garden). For the past four years I have been watching these two at Ooe Yofukuten Japan draft patterns and make denim jeans by hand. I have been heavily inspired by this and I have to say that though I have made jeans most of my life, they have made me look at what I do as more of an art than a “thats-what-sweatshop-people-do” kinda thing.

Check out their blog here http://rhr.blog105.fc2.com/ and then stop by and see them when you’re in Japan.
